USR --- Upflow solid anaerobic reactor

Anaerobic microorganism treatment is an indispensable treatment section in the current high concentration organic wastewater sewage water treatment process. It is better that aerobic microorganism treatment not only has low energy consumption, but also can produce biogas as a secondary use of energy. The higher the anaerobic reaction volume load is, the higher the oxygen reaction is, and the lower the investment is for treating the same amount of COD anaerobic reaction.

At present, the commonly used anaerobic treatment processes include:

UASB --- Up-flow Anaerobic Sludge Bed/Blanket

EGSB --- Expanded Granular Sludge Blanket Reactor

CSTR --- Continuous Stirred Tank Reactor

IC --- Internal Circulation Anaerobic Reactor

ABR --- Anaerobic Baffled Reactor

UBF --- Upflow Sludge Bed Filter

AF --- Anaerobic Biofilter

AFBR --- Anaerobic Fluidized Bed Reactor

USSB --- Upflow Staged Sludge Bed

AAFEB --- Anaerobic Attached microbial Film Expanded Bed

USR --- Upflow solid anaerobic reactor

PPR --- Plug Flow Reactor

Two-phase Anaerobic Reactor

USR --- Upflow solid anaerobic reactor

Upflow solid anaerobic reactor (USR) is a reactor with simple structure and suitable for high suspended solid organic material.

USR mainly deals with high organic solids (organic solids>5%) waste liquid. The waste liquid enters from the bottom water distribution system. During its rising process, the organic solids in the waste liquid are fully contacted with anaerobic microorganisms through the solid bed of high concentration anaerobic microorganisms, and the organic solids are subject to liquefaction fermentation and anaerobic decomposition, so as to achieve the purpose of anaerobic digestion. There are many applications in the current utilization of manure resources in livestock and poultry breeding industry. Many large and medium-sized biogas projects adopt this process.

Principle of USR

This process is developed on the basis of UASB principle. The waste liquid with high organic solid content (more than 5%) enters from the pool bottom water distribution system, evenly distributes at the bottom of the reactor, and then rises through the solid bed containing high concentration of anaerobic microorganism. Make the organic solid in the waste liquid fully contact and react with the anaerobic microorganism, and the organic solid is liquefied, fermented and decomposed anaerobically. The biogas produced will be stirred and mixed with the water flow, which will promote the contact between the solid and the microorganism. The reactor has longer microbial and solid retention time, thus improving the decomposition and digestion rate of solid organic matter. A slag baffle is set in front of the outlet overflow channel to reduce the loss of SS in the tank. The biogas enters the gas gathering chamber at the top of the reactor through the scum layer, which has a certain "crushing" effect on the scum layer. The reaction tank is equipped with a sludge discharge pipe to regularly discharge excess sludge and inert substances that sink at the bottom.

Advantages of SUR

It can treat wastewater (liquid) with high solid content, with solid content ≥ 5%. The sludge retention time (SRT) of the reactor is long, and the decomposition and digestion rate of organic matter is fast. The water inlet of the bottom water pipe is uniform and has the effect of stirring, which can improve the digestion effect and overcome the short-flow phenomenon. The digester does not need sludge reflux and three-phase separator. With high treatment efficiency, low investment, simple operation and management, and high volumetric load rate, it is one of the digesters widely used at present.

Applications of USR

Starch Wastewater, Brewery Wastewater, Sugar Wastewater, Slaughterhouse Wastewater, Farm Manure, Papermaking Wastewater, Sludge Supernatant and other High-solid Wastewater Sewage Water Treatment.
