AFBR --- Anaerobic Fluidized Bed Reactor

Anaerobic microorganism treatment is an indispensable treatment section in the current high concentration organic wastewater sewage water treatment process. It is better that aerobic microorganism treatment not only has low energy consumption, but also can produce biogas as a secondary use of energy. The higher the anaerobic reaction volume load is, the higher the oxygen reaction is, and the lower the investment is for treating the same amount of COD anaerobic reaction.

At present, the commonly used anaerobic treatment processes include:

UASB --- Up-flow Anaerobic Sludge Bed/Blanket

EGSB --- Expanded Granular Sludge Blanket Reactor

CSTR --- Continuous Stirred Tank Reactor

IC --- Internal Circulation Anaerobic Reactor

ABR --- Anaerobic Baffled Reactor

UBF --- Upflow Sludge Bed Filter

AF --- Anaerobic Biofilter

AFBR --- Anaerobic Fluidized Bed Reactor

USSB --- Upflow Staged Sludge Bed

AAFEB --- Anaerobic Attached microbial Film Expanded Bed

USR --- Upflow solid anaerobic reactor

PPR --- Plug Flow Reactor

Two-phase Anaerobic Reactor

AFBR --- Anaerobic Fluidized Bed Reactor

AFBR is an efficient biofilm treatment method, which uses specially developed fillers with large specific surface area as carriers. Anaerobic microorganisms attach to the carrier surface in the form of biofilm, and form a certain height of granular sludge bed in the reactor, greatly improving the degradation efficiency of organic substances. Anaerobic fluidized bed equipment can adapt to various refractory wastewater with high salinity and biological toxicity, with high removal efficiency, large treatment capacity, low energy consumption and low operating costs.

Working Principle of AFBR

AFBR relies on the biofilm formed on the surface of the filler to retain anaerobic sludge. The filler is in a fluidization state at a higher rising flow rate, which overcomes the blockage easily occurring in the anaerobic filter (AF), and can fully mix the anaerobic sludge with the wastewater, thus improving the treatment efficiency.

The wastewater is pumped into the reaction zone by the water distribution system in continuous pulses, and fully contacts with the anaerobic biofilm on the carrier for reaction. At the same time, the reaction degree and contact time are increased, and the filler reaches the fluidization state, so that the organic matter is decomposed by the anaerobic microorganism to produce biogas. The mixture of solid, liquid and gas is separated at the upper part.

Advantages of AFBR

1. High removal efficiency, large treatment capacity, low energy consumption and low operating cost;

2. It can adapt to various refractory wastewater with high salinity and biological toxicity;

3. Impact load resistance, no blockage;

4. It can cultivate anaerobic sludge with high biogas production activity, so that the reactor can treat all kinds of organic wastewater, and 80% biogas production, sludge reduction, COD removal rate of more than 70%, organic load of 10-30kgCOD/cubic day (general UASB equipment 5-10kg);

5. Anaerobic sludge is easy to acclimate, with short cycle and convenient management;

6. Different forms can be set according to different requirements, including equipment and concrete structure;

7. It covers a small area, has strong adaptability, convenient modeling and short construction period.
